Method
For our beach profile, we used people of the same
height to stand at two certain points on the beach where there was a break of slope. To measure the degree of angle in which
the beach changed one person looked through a clinometer at our teammate’s eyes. The sight line is parallel to the beach
surface. As shown in the picture, the distance between each slope is measured and then recorded.
We then did a pebble sample along the same line
as our profile line. As there was limited time to do this, we managed to record three samples at the breaks of slope. We then
put a clipboard down on the beach sample point. The first ten pebbles that touch the end of the clipboard must be picked up.
This sample had to be random and was important not to choose pebbles.
